People Will Be Rewarded for Restoring Historic San Diego Homes
The award ceremony from the Save Our Heritage Organization takes place May 31 at the Marston House Garden in Balboa Park, where they will honor individuals who have contributed to preserving and restoring well-known and historic San Diego homes and structures!
According to The San Diego Tribune, “The top prize went to an effort to designate South Park as a historic district, which faced opposition from some residents.”

Bike MS: Bay to Bay is an annual cycling adventure hosting 2,500 participants, fully supported, along California’s beautiful coastline from Orange County to San Diego.
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer | Balboa Park | Oct 20
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer isn’t just a walk. It’s a movement to end breast cancer. When you sign up, you join thousands of people just like you who want to see a world where this disease doesn’t exist. You’ll walk, you’ll fundraise, you’ll make lifelong friends. Most of all, you’ll help save lives from breast cancer – and help work toward a future without it.
This is the region’s largest free Halloween carnival, providing families a fun, safe, and culturally inspired kickoff to their Halloween festivities. The Balboa Park Halloween Family Day features dozens of free craft projects for kids, Day of the Dead-themed displays and activities, costume contests and parades, carnival games with prizes, live entertainment, and food trucks. Participating museums also offer free admission to children 12 and under with paying adult. Special thanks to our friends at the Balboa Park Conservancy for coordinating such a fun and festive event.
